Job Training Programs

Monarch Thrift Shop is an excellent place for individuals needing to complete Community Service or Service Learning hours. We also have a youth job training program designed to give you skills that will increase your job readiness.

Youth between the ages of 16 to 26, who face barriers to employment, may apply to join the Young Monarchs of Chicago job-readiness program. Barriers are defined as anything that stands in the way of you being hired. Sometimes this is having no previous job experience, or not having support to know where to start. It could be a disability, physical or mental.  

Our soft skills training program will build your confidence in the workspace! This is a service learning opportunity that connects on the job training with your personal goals. Spots are limited, apply today to get more information. 

We focus on communication, problem-solving, dependability, curiosity, creativity, and taking initiative. Participants get real-world job experience in a nurturing environment with mentors and instructors who focus on the participants particular goals and job-readiness level. All participants also receive resume assistance, job search instruction, and job interview practice.
