Young Monarchs of Chicago
Building Confidence Through Experience
Young Monarchs of Chicago is Monarch's workforce development program designed for young adults ages 16–26 who face barriers to employment.
Through hands-on retail experience, mentorship, soft-skills development, and job readiness support, participants build confidence and gain transferable skills that apply to any career path.
Participants receive:

- Interview preparation
- Customer service training
- Professional communication skills
- Mentorship and guidance
Young Monarchs helps participants develop the confidence, experience, and workplace readiness needed to pursue future employment and educational opportunities.

Restorative Justice & Community Service
Creating Pathways Toward Restoration
Monarch Thrift Shop is a community partner of the Avondale Restorative Justice Community Court (RJCC), providing meaningful service opportunities for individuals working toward accountability, restoration, and personal growth.
Our approach is rooted in respect, dignity, and meeting people where they are. Participants gain hands-on experience in retail operations while contributing positively to the community and developing transferable workplace skills.
Monarch welcomes:
- Restorative Justice Community Court participants
- Court-mandated community service participants
- Individuals seeking meaningful community engagement opportunities
On average, Monarch provides approximately 100 community service hours each quarter.
Through structured service experiences, participants build workplace readiness, accountability, teamwork, and practical retail skills within a supportive environment.
